Ronald McDonald House Charities South East Queensland
Ronald McDonald House Charities South East Queensland (RMHC SEQ) provides accommodation and support services for seriously ill or injured children and their families. RMHC SEQ has three Houses in Brisbane; one at Herston beside the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital, one at South Brisbane directly opposite the Queensland Children’s Hospital (QCH) and Mater Mothers’ Hospital and emergency Family Accommodation in the QCH.
Each year approximately 800 families use RMHC SEQ’s emergency family accommodation within the QCH - families with children in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and who physically cannot leave the hospital due to the severity of their child’s condition. These families are facing a difficult and emotional situation, and knowing they can stay inside the hospital, as close as possible to their child, is invaluable.
