This Wednesday we will all be coming together on Jersey day for some friendly rivalry for “State of Origin”.
We have decided to raise money on Wednesday 9th
June to support “Ronald McDonald House”, an organisation dedicated to helping
families with seriously ill children in The Children’s Hospital at
Westmead/Randwick.
We’ll be running a raffle to support the organisation,
details are as follows:
<!--[if !supportLists]-->· <!--[endif]-->$5 a ticket OR
<!--[if !supportLists]-->· <!--[endif]-->X3 for $10
<!--[if !supportLists]-->· <!--[endif]-->The lucky
winner will get 3x Domino’s Pizza, Garlic Bread and a large coke delivered to
their house to eat while they watch “State Of Origin”.
This Charity is close to my heart as my first cousin, who
is my best friend and my maid of honour has recently found out that her
daughter will have a very challenging year ahead.
This story is a parent’s worst nightmare to be told “ your
daughter has a 5.5cm brain tumour which is stage 4 cancer”.
Meet Bridget
Bridget is 11 years of age. Bridget’s journey started several weeks back when she started vomiting, feeling dizzy and the Doctor recommended an eye check.
The eye test found that Bridget had a brain bleed which led
to further emergency tests in which they found Bridget had a 5.5cm tumour.
Bridget has now had 2 brain surgeries to remove the tumour
over the last couple weeks and starts Chemo this Friday as she has been
diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Bridget is coming to terms with the fact that
she most likely will lose her hair and this weekend got her hair dyed BLUE.
Can you tell which Team she will be supporting Wednesday
night for “State Of Origin”? #BLUES
“Ronald McDonald House” has been kind enough to give my
family accommodation over the next year and for as long as they need.
To stay at Ronald McDonald house it’s $160 per night for
one family, which equates to $58,400 per family per year.
It would mean a lot to me if we as a Team could come
together to help raise money for other families who are in a similar position.
LETS DIG DEEP.
Best wishes,
Brooke Edye
