Stand with Mitchell.

On 17th January, the world stood still for Mitchell and his family.

He was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma.

For the next 548 nights, Ronald McDonald House will become Mitchell's home-away-from-home whilst he receives life-saving treatment. Please sponsor a night on Mitchell's night-o-metre and send him a message of support.

Let him know he is not alone.

"The team at Secure Agility are proud partners of Ronald McDonald House Charities Sydney. My team and I have seen first-hand how seriously ill children and their families’ benefit from the charity at the most vulnerable time of their lives.

We are asking our clients, partners and members of the extended 'Secure Agility' family to Stand with Us to support sick kids like Mitchell.

With tax time coming up, this is the perfect time to give. All donations big or small are tax-deductible and will help make a big impact.

Join us and Stand with Mitchell now"

Within weeks of starting rigorous chemotherapy treatment, Mitchell's new baby brother Connor would also be admitted to the intensive care unit.

Only a few short months ago Mitchell was living a normal life for a six-year-old kid in Dubbo. He and his two-and-a-half year old sister Hannah were over the moon with excitement about their Mum having a baby in just days.

Mitchell had been feeling unwell for three weeks and wasn’t responding to medication. His mum and dad insisted on an abdominal ultrasound, which revealed their worst nightmare.

He was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a large tumour in his stomach with metastases in the lung, lymph node and bone. He was airlifted to Sydney and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit the very same day.

Mitchell's mum, Erin was due to give birth to his baby brother in just four days time. This meant that Mitchell would only be able to have his dad by his side for the beginning of his journey.

And on 21 January, the very same day Mitchell started chemotherapy treatment, his mum gave birth in Dubbo to an (initially) healthy baby boy, Connor.

It would be a heart wrenching 11 days before Mitchell would have his mum hugging him again. It would be this long until he and his dad would get to meet their new family member, baby Connor.

But sadly, as Mitchell bravely soldiered through his chemotherapy, and only one month after he was born, baby Connor became seriously ill and was admitted to intensive care. Baby Connor underwent surgery for severe laryngomalacia, softening of the voice box. He is dependent on a CPAP machine for breathing and requires ongoing hospital treatment.

For the next 548 nights, Ronald McDonald House in Sydney will be their home-away-from-home whilst Mitchell receives life-saving treatment. It means from now on, they can stay together as a family when they need each other most.

Mitchell has a long road ahead, show your support and stand with him. Let Mitchell and the next seriously ill child know that they are not alone.

Please sponsor a night on Mitchell's night-o-metre and send him a message of support now.

"We're so grateful we’re able to remain here together as a family, rather than having the extra stress being separated and not knowing what's happening with our two boys.

Neither Jeremy or I are able to work at the moment and we’re grateful to have Ronald McDonald House.

As gloomy as you might feel from the Hospital each day, they’re always there with a friendly word or smile. This House and the support they offer really lifts your spirits”

About Ronald McDonald House Charities Sydney

Ronald McDonald House Charities Sydney gives seriously ill children the best gift of all – their families.

Our Randwick House provides warm and supportive home-away-from-home for families of children who need to travel to Sydney Hospitals for critical care and treatment. We create a safe and welcoming environment where families can stay connected, and parents can communicate more easily with their child's medical team.

In the past year alone, nearly 800 families from regional and rural Australia stayed at a Ronald McDonald House in Sydney and over 4,000 families have used our family rooms in Sydney Children's Hospital, Royal North Shore and Wollongong Hospital. Allowing parents and carers to focus on what is most important, the health of their child. Watch the video below and see why you need to stand with Mitchell and all kids with a serious illness or injury.

Mitchell's family are supporting this campaign, however, the appeal and all communications are managed by Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Western Sydney and Ronald McDonald House Charities Sydney. All monies raised will be used to support the programs of RMHC Sydney and RMHC Greater Western Sydney.
