We're helping families from across Northern NSW by reducing the impact of their child serious illness or injury.
1991 marked the inaugural program for Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern NSW, with the opening of Ronald McDonald House Newcastle.
Since then, we have gone on to expand the support we are able to provide to families throughout our region, helping more than 6,000 families each year.

Our Ronald McDonald Houses in Newcastle and Tamworth keep families who have had to travel far from home together and under the one roof close to the Hospital.
Family Rooms
Our three Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, located within the Gosford Hospital and John Hunter Children's Hospital, is a refuge for families while their sick or injured child is being cared for in the Children's Ward or NICU.
Learning Program

Family Retreat
Our Ronald McDonald Family Retreat in Forster is helping families with a seriously ill child, or those grieving the loss of a child, have the opportunity to take a break and spend some much needed time together.

Meet Emily
For Emily and her sisters, the House was a fun place filled with toys, games and the best playground in their very own 'backyard'. For her parents, Nathan and Suzie, the comfort of knowing they were together, steps from the Hospital and together as a family.
Emily and her family spent the best part of a year going back and forth to the hospital while she was treated for Leukaemia. But with the help of Ronald McDonald House, their family were able to have a home away from home and be together, near the care she needed.
