Meet Andrew

ANDREW REMEMBERS THE FIRST TIME HE RODE HIS BIKE DOWN THE DRIVEWAY OF RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE WITH RIDE FOR SICK KIDS. HE NEVER THOUGHT THAT ONE DAY IT WOULD BE HIS HOME AWAY FROM HOME.

Helping sick kids and their families is something Andrew has always been passionate about, which is why he signed up to Ride For Sick Kids, back when it first began.

While he has always been comfortable with the focus being on helping others, Andrew recently found himself on the other side of things, travelling down the driveway once more, but forvery different reasons.

Andrew’s daughter Ellyn started to experience multiple severe attacks that left her in excruciating pain. Suddenly, the family had to make an emergency trip none of them were expecting.

Landing hundreds of kilometres away from home, fearful for his daughter and her condition, Andrew and his family had not much more than the clothes on their backs and the realisation they were in an incredibly tough situation.

Then Andrew discovered the charity he had always supported
was now there to support him and his family.

For the month of September, community members and businesses are hopping on a bike for the Ride for Sick Kids, which is an annual event aiming to raise crucial funds that will help us to keep our doors open so we can support hundreds of other families, just like Andrew’s.

Will you follow Andrew’s lead and jump on a bike?
