Catch up on missed education
Ronald McDonald
Learning Program

About the Learning Program

A tailored program to help seriously ill children catch-up on missed education.

The Ronald McDonald Learning Program assists school-aged children with serious illnesses and injuries to catch up on missed education following treatment and recovery. The program provides a suite of educational services including face to face or on-line tutorials with experienced teachers, tailored to students’ individual needs. All services are free to families thanks to funding from our generous RMHC supporters.

How it works

Ronald McDonald House Charities Victoria & Tasmania are always on the look-out for trained professionals to join the program and help seriously ill kids catch up on their missed education. Qualified tutors are contracted for services and are paid on an hourly basis.  Tutors are required to:

  • Have a teaching qualification
  • Have current VIT registration or WWCC/police check
  • Provide 2 referees
  • Have an ABN for payment  (tutors are contracted for services) and sign a contract
  • Complete our child safety compliance (code of conduct, 20 min safe guarding children and young people module)
  • Acknowledge and abide by Covid safe practices.

Current tutor requirements for  term 3, 2021

Whilst we  are always happy to accept  expressions of interest from prospective tutors in all locations and subject areas, we currently have some high priority  tutor needs for current students awaiting a tutor. Prospective tutors in these areas will be prioritised.
