Welcome to Redtember 2023, raising funds for RMHC Central West NSW.

Walking hand in hand with families when they need it most.

It's more than a place to sleep.....

Thanks to your participation, we will be able to provide holistic support to families throughout their child’s recovery with illness or injury.

With your support, here at Ronald McDonald House Charities Central West NSW, we continue to provide free accommodation for rural and regional families when they have a sick or injured child in hospital.

2 Stays - 79 nights - Accommodation Savings - $11,850

Julianne, her partner Paul and three-year-old daughter, Miralle, are from Condobolin and have been staying with us since early December 2022, due to Julianne’s high-risk pregnancy.

Julianne explained the House had been the best thing that could have happened, as they were not sure how they would have managed the pregnancy if they had to continually travel into Parkes for weekly check-ups.

The availability of the House, and the proximity to the Hospital, offered relief from emotional and financial pressures. The House is a safe, secure, and comfortable place to stay until their daughter is born in February.

The open green space in and around the House provided a parklike atmosphere where they could sit and enjoy the summer days and evenings.

Friendships have been established with other families, and it is great to share your story with someone who is going through a similar situation.  There were also people from her mob in Condobolin staying in the House.

Julianne, Paul, and Mira spent Christmas in the House and had a wonderful time assisting with preparing the food.  Staff organised for Santa to leave a Santa sack outside their door for Mira on Christmas Eve. Julianne commented Christmas here in the House was very special and they felt like they were at home.

Julianne commented Staff and Volunteers are all wonderful, caring people and have contributed to their stay being comfortable, safe and relaxed.

Julieanne and family first stayed at RMHC Central West in 2019 for the birth of Miralle for 22 nights.

The family will be with us through to mid to late Feb 2023, making this stay close to 2 months.
