Until the World Record Attempt

He's swinging for the record - and for families doing it tough.

Chipping for Charity – Help Mick hit more than 10,392 golf balls on October 17th and raise funds for families with children who are ill or injured

Every shot brings Ronald McDonald Houses across Australia closer to keeping families together when they need it most.

In 2021, Mick McLoughlin – a Brisbane local, board member and long-time supporter of Ronald McDonald House Charities – set a Guinness World Record by playing 2,001 holes of golf in just seven days.

He raised more than $300,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) South East Queensland, helping provide accommodation, meals and support to thousands of families with children who are ill or injured.

Now, he's back for round two. This time, he's 'Chipping for Charity' attempting to hit over 10,392 golf balls to a target in 24 hours, breaking a record set in 2002.

It started as a challenge from his son, who noticed how fast Mick was smashing through practice buckets. A quick search confirmed the record existed - and had stood for over two decades. So Mick picked up his clubs again, with a bigger mission in mind.

"If I can swing a club 10,000 times in a day to help families with a sick child stay together - I will."

This attempt will raise funds for every Ronald McDonald House across Australia, providing families with accommodation, support, and care close to their child's hospital bed.

Meet Mick McLoughlin

Mick McLoughlin is a dedicated board member of Ronald McDonald House Charities South East Queensland (RMHC SEQ) since 2014 and has also served on the RMHC Australia board. His commitment to supporting families with seriously ill children is unwavering.

In 2021, Mick set a Guinness World Record by playing 2,001 holes of golf in seven days, raising over $300,000 for RMHC SEQ. This remarkable feat was driven by his desire to support families during challenging times.

Now, Mick is preparing for his next challenge: 'Chipping for Charity', hitting more than 10,392 golf balls to a target in 24 hours. This endeavour aims to raise funds for every Ronald McDonald House across Australia, ensuring families can stay close to their child's hospital bed when they need it most.

“I’ve seen the difference Ronald McDonald House makes for families. If swinging a golf club can help ease even one family’s stress, then I’ll swing until I physically can’t.”

Whether it’s through rain, fatigue or blistered hands - Mick’s swinging for every House across Australia.
