Celebrate our 15th birthday by helping us reach our fundraising target for a new family kitchen
When a child is diagnosed with a serious illness, it can have a devastating effect on families. As well as the uncertainty and fear, there’s the added stress for families who don’t live close to the medical care their child needs.
This year marks the 15th anniversary of our Ronald McDonald House opening its doors to seriously ill or injured children and their families, in that time over 5,000 families have come to know Ronald McDonald House as a home away from home in their time of need.
We are proud to celebrate this significant milestone which is a testament to the level of compassion and support shown by all those involved with our Charity over the years. Since the day we opened our doors to families, our local community has been there supporting us every step of the way.
Now, more than ever we need your help with a very special project.
The kitchen is the heart of every home. When friends and family come together for a home-cooked meal, it is not uncommon for everyone to end up in the kitchen, chatting and lending a hand. The room transforms from a place where food is simply stored and prepared to a place where conversations come alive, meals are created and connections are made.
The kitchen at Ronald McDonald House is no exception. This is the place where families start the long day ahead of them with a cup of tea and can come together after a long day at the hospital to relax, unwind and make a meal.
But even more so, the kitchen at Ronald McDonald House is a place of comfort. Every cuppa, every connection with another family, and every tummy filled means that we are fulfilling our mission to provide a ‘Home away from Home’ for the families of seriously ill children that need us most.
We need to raise $180,000 by 30 November 2019 so we can commence an extensive refurbishment project of our original kitchen which has helped families prepare over 200,000 meals over the past 15 years.
While our original kitchen is still functional and much-loved, demand for our services has never been greater and our kitchen needs an upgrade to ensure we can best support families in the future.
Please make a gift towards this important project and help us reach our goal.
Your contribution would help us to ensure that we can complete this refurbishment by the end of 2020 and provide access to modern facilities that better support families from our region experiencing severe emotional distress in a home-away-from-home environment.
A big thank you to our Supporters
